#Handmade - Iced Jacket

From Handmade
Notes
Using the yarn from my frogged oversized Cardigan (read - I made it about 10” too big ;-))
Frogging while knitting since it takes forever :-)
Started this morning and it knits fast so far.
This is my first try for a Raglan and also my first for a Top-down Cardi.
One day later and I’m 3/4 finished with the body.
I love fast knits :-)
OK, finished - next time I will pick up ALL stitches along the border, not 3 out of 4 as the pattern suggests. It looks ok, when worn correctly, I just wanted to show that it IS a tad short…..
I would also decrease at least two more stitches for the arms to make them a tad tighter at the bottom.
Anyway, I love the pattern and the fit!
Make sure you go by the pattern suggestion and choose the bigger size!
And keep measuring while you knit.

#Handmade - Recycled burlap bags

Two more recycled Burlap bags finished - coffee bags, I think :-)

The first one is really big, but perfect for summer to come with a long strap,
so it's comfy to carry big water bottles (and your knitting) around.

The smaller one is more a basket.
Currently I store my spindle and wool for spinning in there (not that I have tried spinning yet)....

#365 - My garden

The garden is growing, but needs serious protection from early morning on.
It's freakin' baking out there!

Also got more plant earth, recycled some seeds, hoping that they might grow into
something edible, worth a try ;-)
Also salvaged big and small flower pots, discarded by whomever.
Oh, that thing in the front is a discarded car sun screen. Have two of those by now.
One for the plants and one for me :)
And the shelf is a discarded pallet from one of the construction sites :)

#365 - My balcony

My balcony as of March 13th. Got me a new 'shelf'. The plant in front and on top in the back are trash rescues. My big Aloe is hiding. The burlap bag I use for sun cover. Sun's already brutal. Not sure how long I'll be able to have them outside. All my pots are trash rescues too :)

#Handmade - Another handbag

Another handbag, recycled from a rice bag (including the zipper).
I need to fix a few stitches at the bottom (too thick for the machine, I screwed up and should have cut that part) & also need to sew the zipper ends by hand.
But I really, really love this one!

#Handmade - Recycled blanky, aka the dog blanky

I wanted to do this since a long while, but knew
that due to the thickness it would be a pain.
It was.
It would need some more lines along the middle but for now
and for the first wash in a few days, it will do.

And it was obviously worth it ;-)
Didn't take them 5sec from the last pic I took to conquering it :-P

#Handmade - Recycled Burlap / Rice bag

I love the idea of making something useful / pretty out of these poor bags, that otherwise end up in the trash.

I wish all of Kuwait would give me their poor coffee and rice Burlap bags :-D

Here's the story of the latest one (I'm still training, but the machine and I are starting to become friends ;-))

#Handmade - Recycled rice handbag

From Handmade
My second try for a recycled rice handbag.
Not sure if I showed the first one.
They are both still unfinished, but I at least want to show the beginnings :-)
