#Bahrain

I was just reminded of a beautiful weekend trip to Bahrain in 2007.
I hope things settle down one day again over there.

#365 - The road to healthy

Good morning world

40min walking & 1 hr Yoga behind me, now I'm chewing my Veggie juice....
I am tempted to go to Fahaheel and get me the cheap juicer after all... This juice (smoothie) ain't bad, BUT,....

Anyhow, this one's a blend of 1 (biggish) cucumber, 1 Tomato, 2 (biggish) carrots, 1 relatively big red beet & one apple. Added some water and overheated my poor Blender a bit, even though I added stuff slowly  . If you want it less chewy - add more water.

Stored half of it in a jar (you have to fill it all the way, or all the Vitamins will go 'puff'. That one's either for tomorrow or later today.

Put in some Tumeric, Flax seeds and oats. Forgot to put in some Ginger, but used some of my powdered Ginger instead. And defo don't have a problem chewing this 'juice'

#365 - No more Fahaheel beach

No more Fahaheel beach. At least not with the dogs.
And what's the point of going there without?
I guess someone higher up must have gotten scared.
Oh well. For now we still have Mangaf beach.
Not for much longer, I'm afraid, since they are building all that fancy stuff there.
But with all that trash around it really ain't no fun anyway. All the dogs want to do these days, is
go and roam for scraps. Yuck.

From 365 - 2014

I am glad they are doing more against the trash. It got a little better it seems,
but people are still very disrespectful.

#365 - What a great morning

Knitting at the beach cafe in Fahaheel with a friend.
Gorgeous weather and fresh air.
What more could one want?

#Kuwait - Mangaf beach

A morning at the beach. It was almost clean for once. I was impressed.
Either the rant of the Lady on the Kuwait up to Date page resulted in some
action or the clean up effort was due to the weekend ahead. Who knows.
There were at least 8 trash bags (black ones, the city workers usually use yellow ones).
So, if anyone can enlighten this mystery for me, be my guest :-)

The 'whatever it will be' building in the back seems to be coming to an end of it's construction phase.
Still weird for me to see that there.

From Kuwait 2013 / 14

Lots of pebbles are back and hence the sea glass as well. Brought some home of course ;-)
Construction bricks are there too. I've seen those before way down to the right of the beach.
I guess the current goes from right to left, up towards the city. (If there is such a thing)
I always thought it would go the other way around?

#Kuwait - Pooped

Not sure how I ever missed this, but I just had a good laugh thanks to it :-)

#Kuwait - Fahaheel beach, April 26th 2007

A new series, that will also make me dig and clean deep in my archives ;-)

Inspired by 1001 Street chairs in Cairo (I might also put them all on tumblr)

From the beginning all the old chairs around Kuwait and reused Couches have fascinated me.
And I took loads of photos.

OK, this is not one of them, but the first object you can sit on from my archives ;-)

Hope you enjoy the new series :-)

#Kuwait - Rock no more

The rocks are now piled up besides the sand
From Kuwait 2013

I am not entirely sure, what those people are doing down at the beach this time. Since yesterday they are carting sand and rocks from left to right. As far as I can tell from here, there are no more rocks left on the (my) left side of the beach.
Update Nov 23rd: The tide has taken the rocks back into the ocean and you can only see them at very low tide. Still need to go down and take photos.

Not sure, if they want to make this a sweet nice sandy beach for the new resort that they are building at the 'Amir's place' (or whatever the heck that will be, when finished).

There was already no more sea glass after they removed the pier and all the other things which blocked the original tide line.

Due to the rocks missing, I didn't sea any sea urchins this year.

And if they remove all the rocks, all the snails (or whatever their correct name is) will be gone too.
With it, the few birdy migrants that still come here will have nothing to snack on, but the trash that floats in or that people leave behind. And there's enough of that.
