#365 - Buckwheat heat pillow

Made me a quick Buckwheatheat pillow, warm up inmicrowave, put on ouchie spot, enjoy, sigh!

Next one will be bigger and prettier ;-)

 

#Handmade - Recycled burlap bags

Two more recycled Burlap bags finished - coffee bags, I think :-)

The first one is really big, but perfect for summer to come with a long strap,
so it's comfy to carry big water bottles (and your knitting) around.

The smaller one is more a basket.
Currently I store my spindle and wool for spinning in there (not that I have tried spinning yet)....

Another handbag, recycled from a rice bag (including the zipper).
I need to fix a few stitches at the bottom (too thick for the machine, I screwed up and should have cut that part) & also need to sew the zipper ends by hand.
But I really, really love this one!

#365 - Fresh milk and more

I was such a happy camper today (and still am).
Found fresh milk, without  preservatives at Sultan Center in Fahaheel.
Not ridiculously overpriced either.

Tasted the Laban (similar to buttermilk). It's good!
Almarai is a bit fuller from the taste, but I do like this one.

I also went material (and magazine) shopping.

Had to check if the stores in Fahaheel have different things than my shop here in Mangaf.

They are all fairly similar, but sometimes you Luck out.

I'm taking part in a sewing challenge for 2014.

This one will become a skirt for the January challenge. I'm still missing the pattern for it though ;-)

Also met bunches of friendly people, most of them highly, but pleasantly surprised that I use my own bags and not plastic bags. ;-)

I wanted to do this since a long while, but knew
that due to the thickness it would be a pain.
It was.
It would need some more lines along the middle but for now
and for the first wash in a few days, it will do.

One resolution for 2014: take the time to do 'real' photos!

Pants need some more work, but heck, at least they 'fit'.
I finally grasped the principle of legs combined with the crotch.
I had some brain issues there ;-)

I will rework the legs and other stuff later, for now, I'm just happy that I got this over my butt ;-P

- Scraps big enough for the outer lining of your book
(you must be able to wrap the book in it comfortably)
- some material for the filler, I've used some Leftover Flannel
measurement: same as above
- some elastic band, I've actually reused straps from an old Bra ;-)

I tried to do the bottom like in this Tee pattern, but it went a bit too s'short', plus the slippery material ain' that easy to sew. I'll try again :-)

 Ich hab versucht, den Rand so hinzubekommen, wie in dieser Anleitung. Aber das Material ist dezent schluepfrig und mein Rand etwas zu kurz. Ich werd's nochmal probieren ;-)

So, hands up, who else manages to sew on arms wrong at least once per T-Shirt?!
 I made it to two times today, once per arm and am not finished yet, that's a record
